Troubleshooting
Why is my display showing '0' watts?
A fairly easy mistake is to place the CT sensor around a multi-core cable. Each sensor must be placed around only 1 live mains cable. If you place it around both Live and Neutral, it will have a cancelling effect or possibly a very low reading that doesn't reflect the real figure.
Why is my display showing '---' instead of an energy reading?
From time to time the transmitter and the display may temporarily lose connectivity, this can be caused by a number of things for example the display unit might be out of the transmitter range. Once in range it should reconnect in a matter of seconds. If connectivity is not restored reinsert the batteries and connectivity should be restored in a few seconds.
Low Battery
Transmitter batteries require replacement when a double flash appears on the red LED during normal transmission. Monitor batteries require replacement when the battery icon is shown in the display. Note: Low battery power will result in poor transmission and inaccurate readings.
Why is my monitor reporting a different figure to the figure on my electricity bill?
Wireless electricity monitors use assumed voltage and are designed to highlight areas of usage and raise awareness of wastage. The municipality installed meter measures the changing voltage and will therefore be more accurate. Generally there should be less than 10% difference between the two figures.
Can my wireless electricity meter interfere with my neighbours?
If two monitors are in close enough range it is possible for interference to occur. If you have a Eco-Eye monitor it is possible to change the channel to avoid interference – See Section 8 of your instruction manual for details on how to programme your Eco-Eye. If you have an Efergy monitor that has interference from a neighbours monitor then it is recommended that you press the Learn button on the transmitter followed by the Link button on the Display to generate a different address to use when communicating.
